Sissy Jones was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women’s Jewelry Association on July 25 in New York City for the brand she built over four decades ago, Sissy’s Log Cabin.

In 1970, Sissy rented and old log cabin in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and opened an antique and jewelry store called Sissy’s Log Cabin. Back then, it was rare for women to start and own their own business so many doubted her endeavors. Sissy saw the potential in this bright opportunity for herself and her family. She wanted it to be a place for people to gather and get things they loved. Sissy’s Log Cabin quickly gained notoriety and monumental success and became one of the most well-known and respected jewelry stores in all of Arkansas.

Today, that log cabin has grown to four stores in two states, and has three generations of the Jones family and over twenty family members involved in the company. Over the last 46 years, many things have changed, but the key values of the company have always been the same, the high importance that is placed on quality, trust and service. Those ideals will always remain at the forefront of the business as long as it is in existence.

The original Pine Bluff store still has a gift shop that features antique silver, bridal registry, decorative accessories and unique gift items. The business employs over one hundred people, including eight graduate gemologists, a professional sales staff as well as a staff of master jewelers and designers, one of whom is from Brazil.
