Russellville, AR (July 3, 2007) — Terra Renewal, one of the nation’s largest privately- held wastewater residuals management companies, has chosen Stone Ward to develop a new logo identity for the company and to roll out the new brand in a national marketing campaign scheduled to launch late summer. The announcement was made by Todd Mathes, chief business development officer for Terra Renewal.
Headquartered in Russellville, AR, Terra Renewal recycles wastewater and food processing residuals, oils and grease for more than 8,000 customer locations in 20 states. The company’s customer base includes food processors, municipal water treatment facilities, hospitals, hotels, restaurants and fast food chains.
Mathes says Terra Renewal’s 280 employees are proud of the company’s commitment to providing valuable waste management services for customers with an environmentally friendly methodology.
“Beneficial use of wastewater makes sense for many reasons,” Mathes said. “While it’s not as widely known as say, recycling plastic or paper, using organic wastewater residuals for fertilizer saves our landfills from hundreds of millions of tons of material a year”, said Mathes. Farmers around the U.S. rely on Terra Renewal to provide them with organic material that enriches their soil. Terra Renewal also processes used cooking oils and fats and collects grease trap waste from restaurants.
“We are a full circle enterprise, not only do we provide an efficient solution for companies to dispose of unwanted waste, we find viable ways to recycle those materials and put them to good use in the agricultural environment,” Mathes said.
Terra Renewal interviewed several advertising and marketing firms before asking three to give presentations at the company’s headquarters in the spring of this year.
“As our company has grown, our needs have increased when it comes to educating the public and the industry about who we are and the services we provide. We need a full- service agency to help us brand Terra Renewal as a premiere company in our industry. After listening to pitches from firms based in Chicago and Dallas, we realized the best fit for us was right here in Arkansas,” Mathes said.
Stone Ward will be responsible for working with Mathes and his staff to incorporate the new logo and colors into all aspects of the company’s business operations. The new identity will also be a focal point in the national marketing campaign currently being developed for Terra Renewal by Stone Ward.
One of the highest profile uses of the new identity will be on Terra Renewal’s fleet of vehicles, including tanker trucks used by the company in its business operations. Stone Ward president, Millie Ward, says the trucks will provide high-impact rolling billboards for the company on highways across the South.
“Terra Renewal is a company Arkansas can be very proud of -- it’s homegrown, it’s green, and it’s rapidly gaining momentum. It fits nicely into Stone Ward’s building good portfolio of clients, and it’s always rewarding when you are able to work with an Arkansas client that is making a national impact,” Ward said.
Other Stone Ward national accounts include the American Taekwondo Association, Meineke Car Care Centers, Snap-on Tools, Sport Clips, Terminix and TruGreen Chemlawn. Stone Ward, with $50 million in capitalized billings, has offices in Little Rock and Chicago. The agency’s founders, Larry Stone and Millie Ward, established the agency 23 years ago in the River Market District in downtown Little Rock.
