Stone Ward staff joined thousands of individuals around the world April 8 in taking off their shoes for One Day Without Shoes, an effort led by TOMS Shoes to raise awareness of the many children in developing countries who spend each day barefoot.
2009 American Idol winner Kris Allen encouraged Central Arkansas residents to shed their shoes April 8 by providing a barefoot performance the night before at Heifer International’s Heifer Village in Little Rock to benefit organizations supporting Rwanda. Kris, accompanied by Stone Ward and 360° Filmworks, traveled to Rwanda March 25 – April 4 to place shoes on the feet of Rwandan children in need on behalf of TOMS Shoes, Heifer International and Bridge2Rwanda.
“Every time you go overseas to help people, you always come back transformed,” Allen said. “We don’t realize how fortunate we are to walk each day without worrying about cutting and scraping our feet.”
