With the help of Stone Ward, Sport Clips took its national philanthropic partnership with Operation Uplink to a record level. Generous customers across Sport Clips’ 670 stores donated $250,000 in a national campaign, enabling U.S. soldiers to make more than 6.5 million minutes of free calls home over the holidays.
Stone Ward assisted Sport Clips in a guerilla marketing effort that landed the Sport Clips’ brand on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and The Early Show. Several national media outlets also “tweeted” the good news of Sport Clips Operation Uplink efforts on their Twitter feeds. The morning show appearances alone accounted for 12.3 million possible impressions.
Stone Ward devoted its services to create a PSA campaign that was used by cable media outlets across the country on encouraging Sport Clips customers to give.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars launched Operation Uplink in 1996 as a premiere calling program for deployed service members. This is the third year that Sport Clips has supported the program that provides free phone time to active-duty military personnel and hospitalized veterans.
In three years Sport Clips and its customers have raised close to half a million dollars for Operation Uplink. This Sport Clips / Stone Ward partnership is a great example of an integrated promotion effort that is a win-win for all.
